1. Maison Des Vins Bourgueil

Nicole and I had great luck visiting the Loire Valley's "Maisons des Vins" and this stop was one of our favorites. Visitors can taste (without charge) any of the wines sold in the shop and the staff could not have been friendlier.

2. Domaine Audebert et Fils

This winery produces approximately 20 different tasty and affordable wines from various area vineyards. We tasted many of them during our visit. Even one of their tannic superstars, which they recommended aging 30 to 50 years, cost less than twenty euros.

3. Cafe de la Promenade

Just a short walk from Domaine Audebert et Fils, we had a lovely lunch on this restaurant's happening back patio. Admittedly, Nicole was more taken with this place than I was and loved the foie gras starter and steak tartare main. Didn't seem like a great value for the money to me.
