Home of the famed Pétrus and Le Pin wineries and vineyards, Pomerol sits on Bordeaux's "right bank" and is known for its Merlot-based wines. No wine tour of Bordeaux would be complete without spending at least a little time getting to know this area.

Château du Tailhas
A nice winery visit for a taste (literally!) of Pomerol. They allowed us to taste both an older and newer vintage which was fun, and our host was very friendly. We didn't necessarily fall in love, but would still recommend a stop to anyone visiting the area.
