"Now this Hennessey; Is gonna be the death of me" -- Kanye West (Bittersweet). Cognac is for ballers! :) An hour and a half drive north of Bordeaux, this makes for an excellent day trip and provides a great break from the red wines of the area.
Bourgoin Cognac
Nicole and I were more interested in visiting a smaller producer rather than Hennessey, Remy Martin, or the like. Although Bourgoin sells some of its juice to the big players, it also maintains a small house brand. Frédéric, the family's young distiller, gave us an excellent tour. He is passionate about his product and it shows. Highly recommended.
