Sancerre is the best known wine appellation within France's Loire Valley and it looks the part. Its village sits quaintly upon a hill surrounded by rolling vineyards. The scenery alone makes it worth the trip.

The winemaker is a great host, speaks English, and makes great wine. They have received scores above 90 from Wine Spectator. We had a fantastic visit.
These wines are exported to the U.S. and can be found, among other places, at New York City's well-known Angel Share bar. The winemaker-host couldn't have been friendlier during our visit.
