A real surprise for Nicole and I, we expected Santiago to feel like other large cities we have visited. It didn't. Fun and vibrant, we had a blast in Chile's populous capital and wished we could have stayed longer than the four days we booked. We particularly enjoyed the Bellavista neighborhood where we stayed.

A Santiago institution, Nicole read about this low key restaurant via a New York Times article about Santiago's sandwich scene. A great stop for no frills (hearty) food.
My brother is a vinyl record enthusiast so we hit this shop which has the best selection of any we found in the city. Scored an El Gallo album to take back with us.
Think Chilean diner. This busy restaurant serves reasonably priced comfort food which I couldn't get enough of. The only restaurant in Santiago we visited twice.
